Off to stay-at-home-mom status. I’m incredibly happy right now but my mind is also spinning in a hundred different directions.
Make your time with the kids quality.
Teach them things.
Don’t be lazy.
Keep the laundry done.
Make healthy meals.
Take the kids fun places.
Go to story time.
Do more crafts.
This is what I have wanted since the day I started this job in 2011 and here it is and I want to do it right. I want to make it last and more than anything I never want to feel like this again. My usual anxiety is doing what it does best and doing a little freak out dance in the back of my head and I need to give him a good kick so I can just be present for a moment.
What is most important in all of it and what will always shine through every day is that I love them. I really, really love them. When they’re grown, that’s all they will remember. Things are looking up.
Liz is a just a mom trying to keep it real about how little she sleeps, how often she gets puked on and how much she loves them. You can find her here every day writing about real-mom moments.
