Brady,
You’re for months old! You are SO MUCH FUN, little man. You are laughing and smiling and trying really hard to mimic the sounds and expressions we make. You love to lay on your back and kick as hard as you can and splash water everywhere in the bath tub. This is beginning to be a really fun time in our lives with you and we’re getting to watch you start to interact and make sense of this world. It’s such a gift to witness.
The things you love the most right now are any toys that light up and of course the ever popular fists. You keep your hands in your mouth the majority of the time you’re awake and you like to grab other peoples fingers and try to shove them in. You are starting to teeth so you prefer to chew my knuckle because you can’t grasp the concept of teething toys. You try to suck on them and then get angry there is no milk coming out.
This month you wore your very first pair of shoes. They were super cute but you kicked them off by the time I got you buckled into your car seat to leave. You also felt your first breeze of cool air this month which startled you. It was funny because until that moment I hadn’t realized you’ve spent your whole life in warm temperatures. We’re increasing your wardrobe from a simple cotton onesie with the occasional pair of socks to long sleeves, sweat pants, hoodies and hats. You will find out soon just how much winter sucks.
Tomorrow you are your four month vaccines which makes me cringe – I hate taking you in for those. I got two shots this month also so know that I’m doing what I can to also keep you from getting sick. I’ve never opted for the flu shot until now and I also got the whooping cough vaccine. So tomorrow when they stab you with several needles know that mommy got some too. That didn’t help did it? It will still hurt and you’ll still cry and I’m sorry. I really am, but like so many decisions your daddy and I will be forced to make in your life, it is what is best for you. And since you won’t be walking around with polio when you get older my guess is you will agree.
Love you Buggy,
-Mama
