Brady,
Oh boy….you are this close to being on the move. You are already into everything within your reach so I can’t imagine how crazy things are going to be when you can get yourself to the things that aren’t in your reach. I have to remove everything within a three-foot radius to make sure you don’t grab it and shove it in your mouth. You will put anything in your mouth. ANYTHING. Computer wires, trash, the remote control, socks, the dogs ears, dog toys, diapers…should I continue?
You can’t crawl yet but you can scoot. Backwards only, though. You haven’t mastered going forward in your scoots or taking a stroll in your walker, everything you do is in reverse. Your dad is trying hard to help you push up onto your knees so you can start to crawl but you don’t usually comply.
Here is what you can do though: say da-da. And you make sure to say that word approximately 207 times a day. Sometimes we hear da-da-da-da or occasionally what sounds like, “I did!” It’s super cute. Could you maybe learn a new word though, like, I don’t know, maybe mama?
You have now tried: bananas, sweet potatoes, apples, pears, squash and a few bites of peas. The peas were not on the agenda but we went out to dinner one night and when dad pulled out the jar of food from your bag we realized I had accidentally grabbed peas instead of pears. Rookie mistake. I tried to get you to eat a few bites but you gagged so I threw them away. I totally don’t blame, peas are gross.
I’m assuming by next month you will be crawling and maybe holding your own bottle, already coming up with less and less reasons to need me. So I will spend the next few weeks rocking you like a newborn baby and nuzzling my nose in your neck. I fear once you are on the go you won’t come back. The changes you make and the milestones you hit are happening at a rapid speed so I will have to stop every once in a while and remind myself you won’t be this little for very long. I can’t imagine you being anything but my sweet baby boy but I know that’s not how this works. Feel free to grow and learn as fast as you want to. Mama loves you.
