Dear Baby,
I’m 24 weeks pregnant now and this is the very first letter I’ve written to you. This pregnancy is flying by and I feel like I haven’t given it the proper amount of space in my brain that it deserves. Except for the bulging belly and multitude of doctor’s appointments, I sometimes forget you are coming. I’ve only taken a handful of belly pictures and I haven’t done a thing to prepare for you except purchase a few bows here and there.
In exchange for the lack of bump pictures and letters telling you how excited I am to meet you, I am giving you something else. Something way better: a big brother. That’s a pretty good swap, don’t you think?
He is the best little boy and judging by the way he reacts with others, he is going to be so intrigued by you and want to be around you constantly. I can imagine he will want to help me feed you and cover you with your blanky.
As you get older hopefully he will protect you, love you and give you advice. He will also frustrate you. Maybe he won’t share his army men. Maybe he’ll color on your doll with markers. I can assure you it will be a crazy ride, but how awesome is that? I can’t imagine how fun it will be for you to share your childhood with your big brother. You have no idea what you’re in for. 🙂
Love, Mama
