After Brady’s morning cat nap Saturday we headed to Kansas City to an Easter parade. We missed the parade, on purpose, and walked around in hopes of meeting the Easter bunny. The line to see him was way too long for something so unimportant so we just strolled around. They had lots of fun activities for older ones like potato sack races and face painting that maybe Brady can do in a few years.
We didn’t wait in line for the petting zoo either (the impatience!) but we got to see them from the other side of the cages. To be honest, I don’t know how many of these types of animal torture shows I’ll take Brady too. I felt sick for them, they looked so mistreated. One sheep was incredibly matted, had some type of wound and its side was concave. Some looked miserable while others looked happy to have attention and treats from lots of little hands.
We could not figure out what the heck this animal was. A rabbit? Kangaroo? Squirrel? I thought for sure it was some made up bread like a cock-a-poo but my friend Tracie finally figured it out. It’s called a Mara.
It was chilly so we popped into Latte Land and got a couple of warm drinks. Brady absolutely loves to be pushed around in the stroller and look at new things. I think we could have scooted into every store on the block and he would have been content the whole day.
Since I’m already worried this post is going to be a super slow loader, I’m going to end here. Saturday Pt. 2 is Brady meeting some horses!
