I’ll be the first to admit, those first few weeks and months with a newborn baby are equally incredible and totally terrifying. You’re overwhelmed with love in ways you hadn’t ever experienced before – ways you didn’t know existed – and you’re also going through some very strange body changes.
That coupled with little to no sleep and a crying baby you aren’t quite sure even likes you that much, makes this time so… complicated.
The Perfect Description of Those First Few Months With Baby
The super funny ladies from The Break Womb have a hilarious rap video that perfectly describes what it’s like: “Your brain goes insane and your hair falls out, in big alarming clumps that’s what I’m talking about.”
Those ladies never dissapoint! I could watch their YouTube channel all day long.
What I Wish My Husband Knew
A year ago I opened up about the things I wish my husband had known when we brought home our first baby. These are things I wish I truly grasped as well.
“I was swollen, dirty, tired and unsure what day it was. I just had a baby, so I was supposed to be a little overwhelmed, right? I knew it wasn’t easy, but I didn’t expect to feel so… gross.”
Like anytime I talk about the trials of motherhood, I’ll remind you that it’s ALL worth it! Tell me moms, what shocked you the most about those first few weeks and months?
