It’s 9:47pm and I’m getting close to already blowing my 365 day blogging challenge. Why? Because I am 7 weeks pregnant and I feel like this baby may be killing me.
And it’s a slow death.
I found out I was pregnant right at four weeks and for the next three I was in awe of how good I felt. Tired, yes, but no sign of nausea in sight. Until a couple of days ago…
When I thought of morning sickness I assumed that it would be an illness cured by a visit to the toilet and then voila. Better. That isn’t true apparently because I am sick every second of every day. There’s nothing to fix it! I went online to read suggestions given by other women (I’ve tried them, they don’t work, but I’m still open to hearing more) and the best answer there listed as a cure for morning sickness: adoption. So true.
I know it will be worth it in the end when I get to hold my precious babe, but right now he’s just not playing fair. I mean, he’s half an inch long for heaven’s sake!
I’m just holding my breathe and trying to push through to the second trimester and trying to have some heart to hearts with this spawn sucking the life out of me.
Come on little baby…

It usually gets better around the 13 or 14 week mark. The 2nd trimester is known as the “honeymoon” phase. Have you tried the preggo pops from Motherhood Maternity? Alot of women swore by those. What helped me was never letting myself get to hungry. I hope you feel better soon!!!

Aww, I hope you feel better soon :/
From what I heard, it doesn’t feel better after throwing up with morning sickness unlike with regular nausea. What works is ginger ale, and constantly snacking on something like saltines (although this is based on pure hearsay).

I’m so sorry you’re sick! Try not to put too much stock into people telling you that you can know the gender of your baby by your morning sickness symptoms. My morning sickness was brutal with both pregnancies, though with my first it was pretty much remedied by throwing up every morning and then never letting my stomach get empty. It slowly waned and by 20 weeks was completely gone. With my second pregnancy it was constant nausea and I often vomited more than once a day, especially in the late afternoon and evening. But, on the bright side, it magically disappeared the moment I entered the second trimester and I never looked back. I figured I must be having a boy since my first was a girl and my morning sickness was quite different the second time around, but no! I’m definitely having another girl this time. 32 weeks and counting.

Never let your stomach get empty. It makes it so much worse. Try to eat something every 2 hours, even if it’s just saltines. Saltines and toast were about the only things I could keep down until I was 17 weeks with my daughter. I practically lived in my bed!
I’ve heard women swear by the preggy pops too but I haven’t tried them. 7up helped me too. I’ve also heard those motion sickness bands that you wear on your wrists helps a lot too.
I know how horrible the nausea and morning sickness is so hang in there. It will (hopefully) be over soon.

I wish I had some advice for you but I’m one of those people you might hate since I never had any morning sickness. I would get nauseous here and there and only had one true food aversion (ground beef). What I will say is that I know it will get better and yes, it will be worth so hang in there. Good luck and feel better!

I wasnt sick a day with my first pregnancy, but my second one was like “Oh shit”. I was sick every second of everyday for 40 weeks. Then the second he poped out, it went away…
I have no cure for you, but goldfish worked better than saltines.
And Coke better than sprite.
Dont take pepto, it will turn your toung black.
Sleeping helps too!
And no house cleaning always made me feel better! lol Bet your husband would love that!

Liz…. I know that this may sound gross, but I has “morning sickness” throughout my entire pregnancy with Zimmer. But I also had a lot more going on with “us” as well.
There wasn’t much I could do to help it, but I eneded up eating a lot of cherry flavored gummie bears. It made it easier to deal with when I needed to visit the bathroom.
Sorry, you are not feeling well, but so excited for you. Are you going to find out the sex or wait? If you do, let me know, so I can start buying things!!!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sprite. Lots of sprite. And eating. Lots of eating. Like all the time.
I know it’s hard, but it goes by so fast! I was icky around the same time, but it went away once the second trimester started, so hang in there! And remember, everyone is different! 🙂
P.S. Don’t read the baby forums. Drama. And don’t believe a word they say about the glucose test. It is very easy. I freaked out my entire pregnancy leading up to that stupid test but it was like drinking Hi-C or Koolaid.

CONGRATS!!! 🙂 HOW WONDERFUL!
Suck on candy BEFORE you get out of bed in the mornings – peppermints or butterscotch worked for me – I was still sick, but this made it a little better! 🙂
