I love Christmas morning. I mean, who doesn’t? As a parent this particular day of the year has become even more adored as I watch my kids experience the magic of Christmas. Looking back to my childhood I remember the kind of mom my mother was on Christmas morning and I can clearly see the mom I am. We all have our traditions and ideas about how it should go but truthfully, I think we’re all a little bit of all of these!
9 Types of Moms On Christmas Morning
Pick Up All The Wrapping Paper As You Go Mom. You open a gift, you put your trash in the trash bag immediately. She does not want her living room floor covered in bows and tiny scraps of red paper.
Perfect PJ Mom. The kids will awake in matching monogrammed pajamas she ordered three months ago just for this very moment.
Photography Mom. Each and every gift will be held up and photographed as you go so that your aunts and uncles and grandparents can see just how much you love it.
Free For All Mom. Throw the paper wherever you want, make a mess, don’t take turns – just have at it! Christmas is for chaos and she embraces it.
Settle Down Right This Minute or Else Mom. It’s way too early for her to deal with loud children who are all hopped up on stocking candy & Adrenalin. She wants a calm and quiet Christmas morning.
Don’t You Dare Come Out of Your Bedroom Until We Tell You Mom. She needs to be positioned on the sofa with her coffee and camera, perfectly poised to snap the photos of the “Look what Santa brought” faces of her children. After all, isn’t that the best part for parents?
Hair & Makeup Mom. She’s been up an hour before everyone else fixing hair and putting on make-up. No way Christmas photos that’ll be around for generations will feature her looking like she’d actually been dragged behind Santa’s sleigh.
You Know We Can Take It Back Mom. If someone doesn’t almost pass smooth out from joy when opening a gift, Mom will remind you again and again you can take it back.
Really Good at Faking It Mom. She makes her kids feel special no matter what gift they came up with. “Oh my gosh! I’ve wanted a glitter macaroni necklace for years! How did you know?”
Which one are you??
