Paityn Luella, you are eight months old! You know, when I added your age to the picture above, I wrote six months. I even saved it, loaded it, and posted it here without ever noticing. I think I’m in denial of how big you are. No way are we just four months away from celebrating your first birthday. What kind of theme do you want? Princess? Strawberry Shortcake? We better get planning!
This month you learned a new trick and that trick is clapping. It is adorable. This morning I put on Curious George to distract you so I could get ready for work and when the intro ended and the song died down and came to a pause, your serious face turned to a smile and you started clapping. Like, yay Curious George! It was super cute.
You aren’t crawling yet but you can scoot backwards like a champ. You were drinking a bottle laying on the floor while brother and I caught a few extra zzz’s a few days ago, and I got up and you were almost in the kitchen. Baby gates may be in order soon.
Also, you still have no teeth. I’m not sure why, or if its normal or not, but I do know that by this age your brother had two. I don’t get really concerned with milestones so this doesn’t bother me, you’ll get them eventually. Really, teeth aren’t that great to have anyway. Don’t sweat it.
Right now, you’re favorite things are:
-people picking you up (you are a big fan of being held)
-chewing on your socks
-your brother
-your cousin
-your aunt
-your little laugh and learn vanity mirror that sings and lights up (you like to look at yourself and smile)
-iPhones (mama’s not falling for it Paityn, you may not play with my lifeline)
-the dog and the cat (but sometimes the cat gets too close and you grab and handful of fur)
You’re starting to learn things quickly and I can’t see what tomorrow holds for you, and the day after that, and the day after that. I love you to pieces, sweet girl.
Love,
Mama
