I’m finally rummaging through photos from Paityn’s birthday party. My camera is on its last leg and gave me such fits on her party day. I kept having to stop and turn the camera off, eject the battery, replace it and then turn it back on. All while trying to get a one-year-old to hold a pose. How well do you think that worked??
Here is her lovely pink party in all its glory.
This Instagram display was just some thick ribbon glued to an empty frame. I printed the photos from printstagram. (By the way, I loved them, much better than postal pix.)
This cake was such a labor of love. It took my close to three hours total. Honestly, the rose icing was pretty easy, it was the actual cake that was tough. I used this scratch strawberry cake recipe and if you’re interested, here’s the icing tutorial I used.
Girlfriend loved eating the cake!
This is the best we could do getting a picture of the birthday girl with her parents. Her attention is always elsewhere.
Love that sweet baby girl!
Liz is a just a mom trying to keep it real about how little she sleeps, how often she gets puked on and how much she loves them. You can find her here every day writing about real-mom moments.

I think you did great with the cake. I also love the instagram photo idea. Will have to do that one for a next party as it looks so easy yet effective.
Will be sure to read your blog often for ideas.
