I will not for one second act like I’m not ready and anxious to kick 2012 out the door. Except for the fact that we are all healthy and still kickin’, and the momentous birth of my beautiful girl, 2012 was a crap-fest. Yes, a crap-fest. Shall we recall this joyous year?
We kicked off the year with my first appointment with the high risk OB and learned of my incompetent uterus.
We struggled to settle on a name for our new addition.
Got an iPhone (and shortly thereafter shattered it.)
Wrote out my very best and very worst moments as a mom.
Went for my weekly cervical check and was admitted to the hospital.
Got the first of what would be in upwards of 10-15 IV’s for the year.
Cried a lot.
Chose a name for our girl; Paityn Luella.
Had an episode of tachycardia, resulting in a heart rate of 200bpm.
Was diagnosed with AVNRT.
Met my first blog friend.
Had a baby shower in my hospital room.
Celebrated Easter in my hospital room.
Begged hospital faculty, and mostly God, to send me home.
Finally was released after seven long weeks.
Went right back to the ER the next day.
Spent three additional nights in the hospital here and there, monitoring baby.
Paityn Luella was born at 35 weeks.
Fell deeply in love with her.
My children met for the first time.
Brady Madden turned two-years old.
I went back to work.
I turned 28.
Celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary by having heart surgery.
Celebrated Paityn’s first Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Waved a big middle finger at 2012.
The end.
Liz is a just a mom trying to keep it real about how little she sleeps, how often she gets puked on and how much she loves them. You can find her here every day writing about real-mom moments.

And they all lived happily ever after because it all worked out in the end. 🙂
