I love Pinterest. It’s so inspiring to have a place to find so many new and creative ideas to try. But you can’t do them all. I encourage you to try new things and let your imagination run wild on Pinterest, but here are six pins that I don’t think any of you should ever try.
The bow bun. Turn your hair into a literal hair bow. All you have to do is put your hair in a ponytail, loop it through, split it into two sections, and.. crap I messed it up. This is one you don’t want to attempt because a) it’s too difficult and b) what grown woman wants their hair to look this way?
Putting your baby inside of things (a pumpkin, a pair of boots, a tonka truck…). There are a lot of things that photographers like to put babies in, and it’s super cute! The problem is when we think we can do the same thing. Well, you can’t. This is one thing you definitely want to leave to the professionals or you’ll most likely end up like this:
Pinata cakes. These are cakes that secretly are filled with candy, like a pinata. In reality, unless you’re a pro in the kitchen this treat will never come out looking like you see on the internet.
Cake pops. Can you roll up some cake mix and frosting into a ball and have it taste good? Absolutely. What is much more difficult though, is getting them to stay on those darn sticks and make them look pretty. If that’s what you want, you should probably order them from a bakery.
Nail art that isn’t a sticker. This is another one you really want to leave to professionals. I highly doubt you will master the marble nail technique.
Pinwheel sugar cookies. I have seen this one firsthand and they are not as easy as they seem. Which is what someone with amazing talents can do; make things that are hard look easy. Give it a shot if you’re up for it, just make sure you have a backup ready for the school bake sale.
Don’t let Pinterest fool you into thinking you can do something you’ve never done before. Unless you are already skilled in a certain area, it’s highly unlikely you’ll nail it. And that’s ok, you’re really good at lots of other things, just not putting babies in pumpkins.
Liz is a just a mom trying to keep it real about how little she sleeps, how often she gets puked on and how much she loves them. You can find her here every day writing about real-mom moments.

Sorry but this post is kinda pointless. The photo of this pin is of a cute little baby, so I thought maybe it was post about pins about posing newborn babies. You have 6 list but you don’t have photos of the pins we shouldn’t be doing. I’d like to see what I shouldn’t be doing.

Um… that was a bit harsh. I enjoyed your post as an amusing diversion. Moms who’ve been around a while know that reality doesn’t always match Pinterest, and it’s fun to see the “nailed it” shots. I touched on this in a recent post, but didn’t have great photos like you do 🙂 (found you on the Mommy Club linkup)

Made me laugh! I always wondered if an average human could actually fill a cake with candy. Glad to know I’m not the only one who isn’t some sort of superhuman Pinterest success story. : )

At first, I thought this was going to be a funny post where you share your “fails” to encourage other moms to keep their spirits up. Instead, this post comes across as a bitter woman actively discouraging others from attempting certain new things simply because you can’t do them 🙁
From your other lovely posts, I’ll assume that isn’t true about you AT ALL. Respectfully, you may want to reconsider the slant of this post and take a few moments to reread your previous post where you beautifully shared this bit of truth:
“Comparison really is the thief of joy.”

Please, don’t ever tell others they can’t do something or ask readers to compare our abilities to yours. It’s not fair to us or you.
Be well ~*~

I totally mastered the water marbling for my nails. Never say never and practice makes nearly perfect. I laughed about the “hair bow”. You are so right about that one. .

Oh, my goodness, there are SO many things on Pinterest that I don’t dare try. Last year I hosted a baby shower and when my husband saw my Pinteresty plans for carving a watermelon into the shape of a baby carriage, he came over, confiscated my knife, and took over the carving before I lost a finger. (And I definitely would have done permanent damage. He knows me very well.) Fun list!
