Dear Brady,
You are quite a terror. What a lovely way to start a monthly post, isn’t it? But it’s true. You are in EVERYTHING. I think I’ve already said that once before but what I was living through then wasn’t anything like this, and I’m guessing I may write a similar sentence in a few years. Like, damn I wish I could go back to 10 months.
You cut your top two teeth this month, which took two whole weeks to finally break through the skin. Two long, sleepless, painful weeks. I’m tired. Your pediatrician seems to think your entire top row may be coming soon since your gums are so swollen.
Lord help us all.
We went for your 9 month check-up in your 10th month because we couldn’t get an appointment in time. You were 31″ long and 22 pounds. That is the 75th percentile for weight and TOTALLY OFF THE CHARTS in height. You are such a big boy. Your MeeMaw says that it was the same for me as a baby, always very tall, but that one day I just quit growing. I hope that is not the same for you, I hope you take after your dad and are tall like him.
You now pull yourself up to everything you find including the tv stand, the couch, my legs, the dogs, even doors. Why you think a door is a good option I’ll never understand, there is nothing to grab ahold of and you fall every time. At your check-up I asked the doctor, just how many times can he smack his head in one day before I should get worried? You are always falling.
As big of a pain as you can be sometimes, you even the slate by creating so much joy in this house. There is nothing like watching a baby crack up in fit of giggles. Or smile at you. Or say mamamamamama. And if I haven’t mentioned it before, you sure are in love with the dogs and lucky for us, they love you back. You crawl all over them and squeeze them and they never bat an eye. It’s a good thing or else they would be permanently banned to the backyard. They know they have dropped down the totum pole like many other things in my life. But I love you, love you, love you. Always, always, always.
Love,
Mama
