These super easy sugar cookies for Easter (or really, any day) are not only simple to make but taste so good. Like, really, really good. All you have to do is follow this awesome recipe and do not think that you can substitute pancake syrup for vanilla extract if you realize you’re out.
Definitely don’t do that.
Easy Easter M&M Sugar Cookies
Aren’t they so pretty? Here is what you’ll need to make them.
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 2/3 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of butter
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- M&M’s
Heat your oven to 375 degrees.
Beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixture until it’s light and fluffy.
Add in the egg and vanilla until blended.
Then, add in the flour, baking powder and salt.
Separate the dough into three (or four, or five…) small bowls, depending on how many colors you want to use.
For our cookies, I left one without food coloring, and we used neon purple for one and neon pink for another.
Roll the cookies into one inch sized balls and place them 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Then, flatten them down and add two M&M’s on top. We used M&M’s Speckled Malt Mini Chocolate Eggs to add a fun Easter flare.
Bake for 9 minutes or until the edges are starting to turn brown. Let them cool and eat up!
My kids had a lot of fun making this and eating them (of course). And it has quickly turned into our favorite cookie recipe.
Here are some more great desserts!
