This Horrific Game Is Convincing Kids To Commit Suicide

parenting

This horrific online game called the Blue Whale Challenge is actually encouraging children to commit suicide. It is scary as hell and we need to be paying attention.

The game developed by a Russian man, gives kids challenges over the course of 50 days, ending with the finale of taking your own life. The daily challenges range from things like watching a scary movie or inducing self harm like carving a whale into your skin.

Why would kids participate? I have absolutely no idea. But it’s happening and has already been to blame for 130 Russian deaths so far. Most recently it is being linked to the death of a 13-year-old boy from Ireland on May 11.

The game is installed on devices and then takes over your phone completely. Allegedly, you cannot uninstall it.

There is rumor that perhaps this is a hoax, and my hope is that it is. I hope our world doesn’t have things like this in existence. But for now, until proven 100%, we have to take action.

Parents: we need to be watching our children devices like a hawk. Password protect them against downloading any new apps without your hard-t0-crack password. Watch them for any signs of self-harm and behavior changes. Don’t hesitate to flat out throw their device in the dumpster.

Whatever it takes to keep our kids safe.
