Our simple moment this week was on a walk we took on Thursday. I took an unexpected day off and got to spend the whole day pretending I was a stay-at-home mom again. I needed that day and my slow time with them. A whole day with nowhere to be.
We took a very leisurely walk and stopped several times to take pictures, look around, talk about things, sit.
I need these moments with them like I need air. I felt so refreshed at the end of the day, like they just breathe life back in me.

Spontaneous days off are some of the best days. Even better than a walk on a weekend is a walk on a day you take off just for fun. I remember those days playing hooky from school every once in a blue moon fondly. Definitely will have some with my daughter when she is older.
