Love and Marriage

And A Baby Carriage.

27 weeks

(one day I’ll start taking pictures on a real camera again)

Well, I made it another week!  We made it another week.  Me, baby girl, baby boy, husband, the whole fam.  Sometimes I wonder how we are really making it through this and the answer is because we have no choice.  You do what you have to do.  I love my family more and more everyday that we go through this.  Especially my husband.  He’s my hero.

One more week and we will be in the third trimester – the time when the survival rate of newborns jumps to 90%.  We’re inching our way closer and closer to a healthy baby girl.  As difficult as all of this is and continues to be, it is nothing compared to the life we will live with a struggling two-pound baby fighting for her life in the NICU.  Not to mention the months, if not years, of heartache and stress of taking care of a high-needs baby.  Everyone is working so hard to avoid those scenarios and keep her safe and sound where she needs to be, in my belly.

My fingers are crossed and my hands are clasped in prayer that next week I’m writing a 28 week post and we are focusing in on a new goal.

My niece was born emergently at 28 weeks 3 days. At 1 pound 15 oz., she is now a thriving 4 year old! Hang in there girl. 27 weeks is amazing!

You look great! I may have mentioned this, but my daughter was born at 30 weeks, 5 days (vbac) and she was in the hospital for 4 weeks even. She was off oxygen in 24 hours, and never had any issues, whatsoever. Other than learning to eat, which she caught onto really fast, learning to maintain her body temp, and not having irregular heartbeats (apneas or bradycardias) she was totally fine. Even if she comes super early, she has a great chance of having ZERO complications. My daughter’s body temp was too low to come home – that’s the only reason she was there so long. Hang in there, Paityn will be here (and healthy) before you know it!
