FLONASE® compensated me in connection with statements made in this post.
Last year was my son’s first year playing baseball. He adores the sport and is already back to practicing for the upcoming season. This year, he’ll be playing even more games, bringing our family to the baseball field a lot. We all have such a good time and really enjoy spending the spring and summer watching him play, eating sunflower seeds and soaking in the sun. Unfortunately for him, my daughter, and me, the allergies we experience can make some of the games pretty miserable. The sneezing and itchy eyes can be unbearable in the thick of allergy season. I’ve come to find a few pretty great tips for surviving it though, and wanted to share them with you.
4 Tips for Surviving Allergies During Baseball Season
1. Children’s FLONASE® Allergy Relief. It’s the only over the counter nasal spray indicated to relieve both stuffy nose and itchy watery eyes. Consistent usage is key. It’s recommended for kids ages 4+.
2. Take a shower when you get home. This has been huge for us. Sometimes it has been a long day or it’s getting late and my son just wants to lay down and rest. But I learned how important it was to have him take a shower and wash off all the dirt, dust, pollen and whatever else was lingering in his hair and on his skin. In the peak of allergy season, this helps them to feel much better.
3. Use a cold compress for itchy eyes. Luckily for us, itchy eyes are a symptom my kids don’t get often. But when it does, it can strike quickly. My daughter’s eyes get more itchy if she starts to rub them. If the eyes are bothering your kids, one of the fastest ways to get relief is to grab a cold wet washcloth and hold it on each eye until it settles down (source).
4. Keep their hands clean. This can be hard, since they are busy playing and running and having a great time. So instead of taking them frequent trips to the bathroom to wash, just keep some wet wipes in your bag and clean them off often. Not just their hands, but their face and neck as well.
At the end of the day, if our allergies are too out of control, we will stay indoors. So far, with these tricks and Children’s FLONASE® Allergy Relief we haven’t missed a game yet! Now you can easily earn points whenever you purchase Children’s FLONASE® Allergy Relief, watch videos and read articles, complete surveys, complete your member profile, and share content with friends. It’s 1:51 am and I’m wide awake, because my 6 year old son has been sniffling and coughing nonstop for the past hour. He had a baseball game today and the field was especially dusty due to no rain for several days. He loves to play but I hate how it aggravates his allergies. He’s never tried Flonase but we will give it a try.
