This easy-to-make Animal Cookie Snack Mix is a great snack for kids to help make in the kitchen!
My kids love to make new snack mix recipes. It’s such a great way for them to be able to get creative and have freedom in the kitchen without making a huge mess or needing help! No oven, no stove, no wet ingredients… And below I have one more quick tip to having little to no clean-up.
If a new movie is coming out on DVD? We make a snack mix. Celebrating a holiday? Snack mix. Just inspired by a cookie we saw at the grocery store one afternoon? Snack mix.
Because you can use so many different ingredients and make so many new combinations, it really is the best kid snack.

Animal Cookie Snack Mix
Here is what we decided to use for this one:
- Pink and White Animal Cookies
- Miniature Marshmallows
- Strawberry Cream Wafer Cookies
- Cinnamon Chex Cereal
To make it, just cut your wafer cookies in half, and then half again to make small bite-sized pieces. If the kids are going solo on this, just let them break them in half instead of using a knife.
Put everything in a bowl, stir it around (or just use your hands like we do) and you’re all set.
My Quick Clean Up Tip!
To serve it, we put a handful of our treat onto a Brawny® Tear-A-Square® quarter sheet. They’re the perfect size for a little snack. It saves me from having dishes to wash.
We use these all the time because it’s so nice to not grab an entire sheet of paper towel for one little thing. I have so often ripped a paper towel in half (never getting it even close to even) because it’s just too big for what I’m doing. Plus, it saves me a little money in the long run when I’m only using what I actually need.
You can quickly grab a full sheet, a half sheet, or a quarter sheet of paper towels. And since it’s Brawny® you know it’s super tough. Aren’t these tiny little sheets so cute?!
My kids struggle sometimes with controlling waste; overusing paper towels and toilet paper constantly. Using these is helping me show them the proper amount, and giving them an easier option to choose exactly what they need for whatever they’re cleaning up.
Whether you’re making a treat with your kiddos or cleaning up a mess they made (or both!), these are always the perfect size.
Next time you make a snack mix, you can switch up your cookies, the flavor of cereal or marshmallows, or add in some chocolate chips or coconut. You can turn this into any creation you want! Match it to your kids’ favorite color or favorite sports team. Connect the theme to a new book you’re reading. The sky’s the limit. Enjoy!
