I’d like to introduce to you the newest member of our family. After looking and researching for a week, I decided on Sam. She is beautiful and intelligent and sophisticated and accurate and I just love her. Guy and I adopted her yesterday, from a place she should have never been, a box. She could never meet her full potential or give anyone the joy that she is giving me stuffed away in a box. Without further ado (chorus of “Isn’t she lovely” plays softly in the background) :

She is a Canon Rebel XS. I have wanted a digital SLR camera for quite a while but haven’t made the leap to purchase one until yesterday. I do have some ulterior motives though, which is a new little venture I am in the midst of putting together right now. (More details to come very soon!)

A special smooch and thank you to my hubby for supporting this new dream of mine and not putting up a fight when you saw the price tag. Love you.

So I spent last night playing with Sam and trying to learn all about her which I am far from mastering yet. Most of the photos I took last night were in different auto modes and I’m excited to learn more about all of the manual settings soon. Here are just a few of the first photos I took (lots more on my flickr!) They should only get better and better.
