Guy and I had always planned on announcing our pregnancy to our parents in some grand way. We waited a week to tell anyone (except my mom) and after googling away and reading all sorts of cute stories others had posted, we decided how to tell Guy’s dad and step-mom.
We had already made plans for Halloween to go to the movies to see SAW IV (best one yet, btw) and asked them if they would like to go to dinner beforehand. At dinner I handed them each a hard I had made:

Guy’s step-mom was the first to realize what it said and SCREAMED! They were both so thrilled and hugged us and grinned from ear to ear. It went just how we planned and they had absolutely no clue. What is fun about not announcing that you’re TTC is that people are genuinely surprised.

I made a shirt for Logan and used iron letters. The front said “I’m going to be” and the back said “a big brother”. It took a good 45 minutes before anyone even realized what the shirt said!

I think it was Duet Letterpress that blogged about this cute idea for revealing the gender to family and friends. They stuck pink gumballs (or blue) inside of a cupcake, frosted it, and then had everyone come over and bite into their cupcake to reveal the gender!
