If I’m gonna talk about depression and mood and trying to be a happier person, I have to pursue how what I’m eating is making me feel. Could my diet contribute to my sadness, my tiredness, my inability to see past this minute? I think so. I certainly don’t think changing the food I eat will fix it all but it couldn’t help.
A few weeks ago I went a few days of trying to only eat food that would promote energy and not eat things that would decrease it. I read an article or two on food that would give you energy and tried to eat those items. Its a pretty simple concept, really. I was eating grapes, berries, almonds, lots of water and eliminating wheat and most dairy.
By the end of the first day I felt different and more energized but its hard to do. It takes planning and not stopping at fast food for lunch or grabbing donuts at the gas station in the morning. Eating well doesn’t really fit into my life. But maybe it should.
I’m going to look into it again and make a better effort. I’m a firm believer that what you put into your body affects your mood, but I’m honestly too lazy to fix it.

I agree with what you put in your body effects you. I eat pretty healthy and have to be gluten free, when I eat dessert or too much sugar I instantly get a headache. Maybe I should listen to my body!!

I am right there with you! When I stayed at home it was easy to plan what we would eat. Now it’s just something else I HAVE to do. I hate that we don’t eat as healthy as we could. It is definitely something we have to work on here too!
