“I’m going to miss you mom. I need you.”
My little girl has been so excited to start Kindergarten but the night before the first day, she was sad. It suddenly hit her she wouldn’t be with me all day and she shed quite a few tears.
I reminded her that she would still be with me every day, she was just taking some time to go learn and have fun. You know, the usual mom talk.
But what was the most helpful for her and my son was this bracelet idea.
See, although my daughter did get a little upset, it’s my son who has real separation anxiety. The kind that makes him nervous and shaky at school drop offs. The kind that keeps me sitting in the classroom with him walking him through deep breathing and relaxing so I’m able to finally leave.
So besides following some of the incredible advice from the Crush Anxiety course, is get two bracelets.
This super adorable idea is originally from the Fairfield County Moms Blog.
