Why Moms Need A Good Foot Rub

mommyhood

Moms are stressed out pretty much all the time. I know for me there aren’t many days where I don’t feel at least a little stressed.

I love getting a massage at the spa but for most of us, that’s a rare treat. Taking the time and the money to allow someone to rub us down with essential oil for an hour while soothing music plays just doesn’t happen.

But getting a massage can have such amazing benefits for our bodies. Especially us mamas who are on our feet a lot, carry the majority of the parenting burden during the day and don’t get much time to unwind and relax.

American moms are more stressed than anyone else!

A foot massage can:

  • reduce stress hormones
  • enhance attentiveness
  • alleviate depression symptoms
  • reduce pain
  • improve your mood

A good foot rub makes you feel happier!

The people over at The Mayo Clinic says massage can be a powerful tool in relaxation and stress-relief… and if there is anyone that needs that it’s MOMS!

You don’t need a ton of money or an afternoon at the spa to do this.

First of all, if you have a partner, trading foot rubs is a great way to spend time together and stay connected. Pick a day or two each week that you plan to do foot rubs. Grab some lotion, set a timer for 10-15 minutes each, and massage away.

You can also give yourself a foot rub!

It’s always more relaxing when someone else is giving the massage, but here is a quick run down on how to do it yourself. You will still reap the benefits.

And guess what? There is a super awesome machine that will do a Shiatsu foot massage any time you want! Put that on your Christmas wish list ASAP!

However you get your foot rubs, mama, make sure you are finding a way to make this simple wellness activity a priority in your life. ♥
