Almost everyday this week I have read people talk about the joys of fall. All about their fall decor, their fall clothes, their fall weather and just how stinking happy they are that this season is finally here. Good for you guys. I really wish I was feeling the same.
I AM NOT EXCITED ABOUT FALL.
Maybe I am the only one out there but fall means only one thing to me and that is that cold weather is right around the corner. Actually, I don’t even think it’s around the corner, I think it’s about five feet in front of me seeing as though every morning I’m waking up to 50 degree temps. I loathe the cold weather. I have no idea what I am doing in the Midwest, I really don’t.
There is only one upside to the cold weather in my book which is everything dies. There is the silver lining: death. No more mosquito bites, flies buzzing above your food, moths swarming around your porch light… goodbye dear friends.
I would love to be excited and giddy to watch the leaves change colors, but I just can’t. I do love fall decorations and pumpkin spice candles but I just know in the back of my mind I will soon have to spend 15 minutes preparing to leave the house to drive two miles. It’s misery.
We’re thinking about planning a winter vacation so I can put some distance between me and the snow for a few days. It’s an approach that I haven’t tried before and that I’m hoping will work well. Maybe after spending some time in the sun and doing some sweating I will be happy to come home and cozy up under the heating blankets.
Doubtful.

I am excited about fall/winter but I also live in the south where it might snow once every 10 years and so you can prob guess the temps don’t get near as low as they do where you are. I was living in Europe last winter and got tired of the cold and snow quickly, so I understand where you’re coming from!

Although I do love fall, I must agree, I loathe the fact that it means winter is around the corner. Winters in Canada are not so fun. I am just praying it’s not a snowy winter!

Living in Texas we have two seasons, hot and cold, so to have a bit of a fall is exciting. But, I am always cold so I can see how you’d be happier about spring and summer.

looks just like all of your other posts! I love fall, I love sweatshirts, but I totally understand where you are coming from. These Kansas winters aren’t so much fun!

However, I do like fall. I like to wear layers and scarves and all that fun stuff. It’s best kind of clothing. Don’t worry, soon enough it will be spring and them summer again! Hold strong! lol

Although I can see exactly why you would feel the way you do about fall….I have to stick up for my favorite season. to live in Texas and have 100 plus degree weather most days is simply dreadful and unbearable. I welcome fall with open arms, for it is a chance for me to enjoy a walk with out feeling like I am in a sauna and a chance to enjoy nature again. I love the crisp air.
I am sure that it is a lot colder there though…I don’t know how I would deal with ice and such.

I used to feel the same way about fall as you did and then one year I just woke up and loved the season.

As you know, I live near you, and I freaking hate Fall too. You’re totally right. All it means is that we will soon be freezing our booties off. Winter basically makes me want to die. The dry skin, the deathly cold air… want to migrate to Florida????? 🙂
