Getting More Fiber In Your Kids Diet

parenting

According to the Institute of Medicine my little girl at 3-years-old needs about 19 grams of fiber a day and my 5-year-old son needs 25 grams a day – that’s a lot of fiber! It’s so important for me to get this important nutrient into their little bellies yet I have the hardest time getting them to eat the proper amount each day. Sometimes we rock it and other times we fail.

When I have a certain nutrient that I’m struggling to make sure my kids are getting enough of, I love being able to turn to a vitamin. I can’t physically force them to take a big bite of barley, but I can certainly convince them to take a delicious tasting vitamin.

The L’il Critters™ Fiber Gummy Bears vitamins have as much fiber as four prunes and more than a full cup of asparagus. Do your kids eat prunes and asparagus? Because mine would never. Ever.

Finding a great vitamin is the first battle and the second is getting them to actually take it. As an adult I hate swallowing vitamins so I can’t expect my kids to do it either – especially my three-year-old. If I do find a chewable vitamin, most of the time they are chalky and don’t taste very good. But L’il Critters™ are different because they are gummies! My kids love them and I’ve taste tested them myself. They are actually excited and look forward to taking vitamins!

I adore the fact that these are absolutely sugar free and have no high-fructose corn syrup. I know that if I give them their vitamin at night that I don’t have to worry about an evening dose of sugar. Plus, there are no synthetic dyes: they are made with natural fruit flavors and colors derived from fruits, vegetables and plants.
If you’re looking to try these or any other L’il Critters™ gummy vitamins for kids or vitafusion™ gummy vitamins for adults, you can get them online or at national retailers like Costco, Walmart, Target and Walgreens.
