There is one golden rule among all new parents that we wish everyone could catch on to: Do Not Ring My Doorbell.
I remember seeing people come to the door and rushing over to stop them before they rang my bell, made the dogs start barking and ultimately disturbed my new sleeping baby. On occasion if I was expecting someone, I would write on a piece of paper to tape on the door, JUST COME IN, PLEASE DON’T KNOCK.
If I would have had this sign back then, I would have put it up the day I got home from the hospital and left it up until they stopped napping.

Print out this 8×10″ printable and tape it to your front door so everyone knows what they should do if they come over. None of those options being ring the doorbell and cause chaos.

This post made me smile on my face! As a working mom, I can completely relate to how even a small noise can disturb a sleeping baby, and the parent, too. I’m currently working at one of the reputed companies here in Dubai, so my days are quite busy. My live-in nanny takes charge of my baby’s sleep routine during the day, and she has actually done something very similar to this. She once wrote a small note on a piece of paper asking visitors not to ring the bell and taped it to the door. Reading your post reminded me of that moment and how thoughtful she was.
