One-hundred and twelve days remaining.
This has been a slow week in wedding planning. I am at that point where the large tasks are complete, and a lot of things I have left to do can’t be done until closer to the wedding day. I did, however, get all the cake details complete with the cake decorator. I am relieved to have another task crossed of of my to-do list. I chose a three tier white and chocolate cake with butter cream icing – yum! All I have to do now, is wait for her to show up at the reception site, write her a check and eat.
My big struggle for the week is the dreaded D.J. Why has this been such a problem for me? They are all so pricey, and to be honest, I don’t think I would mind their price so much if I knew their work and trusted them. My photographer is so amazing that price makes no difference to me (well, it makes a little difference) and I think if I had that trust in a D.J. I would be more comfortable in paying them $500. At this point I am just going to have to pick one and hold my breath because as close as we are getting, people are going to start to book up, if they haven’t already.
Another obstacle before me is the groomsmen outfits. My initial plan has been to have them wear black dress slacks and a blue shirt; the color blue that I am using as accents at the reception and in the bridesmaids bouquets. I can’t seem to find a shirt that color, and if it is isn’t the right blue it just won’t work. I have not had plans of them wearing a tie, but if I can happen to find a tie in that color, I may have them just wear white shirts with that color tie.
Going into next week I am going to start shopping for Guy’s wedding band – we have already picked mine out – and will still be on the search for groomsmen shirts or ties. Of course, I am still on the prowl for a good D.J.
