And A Baby Carriage.

A few of his favorite things

baby

I thought I would take some time to share with everyone, and document for myself and future babies, Brady’s favorite things at 9 1/2 months.  It seems like he has SO MUCH stuff and sure, he might glance at the toys here and there, but there are very few things that I would list as his favorite.  I could definitely make a much longer list of his least favorite things, topping that one?  His socks.

1.  Disney Baby Music & Lights Walker
What tops this list is his walker – a Christmas gift from Aunt Manda.  He spends the majority of his awake time in this, running throughout the house and ramming into things.  He started off by just hanging inside, his feet not quite touching the ground yet, to maneuvering the thing so well that I am sure I could set up an obstacle course and he would make it through at record time without knocking over a single cone.

2.  Sassy Grasp and Glow
Brady got this as a gift when he was a little over three months old.  He was obsessed with it then and is obsessed with it now.  I am in awe of any toy that a baby likes more than 10 minutes.  When he first got it he would stare at the light and we all spent quite a bit of time holding it in front of him and just spinning, spinning, spinning.  Now that he is older he can hold onto it with one hand and flick the ball with the thumb of his other hand.

3.  Infantino Vibrating Teether
Brady will really chew on just about any teether when those little buggers are coming through.  I keep a decent amount of them lying around and rotate them through fridge.  But, the one he will hang onto the longest without chucking on the ground and wants to play with even when he isn’t teething, is this one.  When he bites down on it it vibrates and he giggles.  Personally I don’t know why you would enjoy such a thing but supposedly it massages the gums.  Maybe it does.

4.  Baby Mum-Mums
I’m sure all the moms with babies have tried these.  They are fantastic.  There is a very short list of things that I know I can turn to in order to instantly occupy a cranky/fussy baby so I can finish whatever task I’m in the middle of.  Baby Mum-Mums top that list hands down.  Brady absolutely loves these.  When I hold it up to offer it to him, he grins and yanks it out of my hand.

5.  Cell phones
This isn’t something he’s allowed to play with – I let him a few times and then one day the speaker got way too much saliva in it and didn’t sound right for a while.  If he sees a cell phone anywhere he will take off after it no matter what he is in the middle of which means always keeping them out of sight.  If I am really in a pickle, like in the car, and he is just inconsolable, I sometimes through him my cell phone.  Instant quiet.  It’s really a little strange, I don’t know what it is about cell phones that just completely awe him.  In fact, I’m thinking this may have been number one on the list.

My 8 month-old has the same fascination with my cell phone…which isn’t a good thing. I’ve taken to charging an old cell phone or two and letting him play with them. That way he’s happy and I’m happy too since he’s not messing my phone up – or calling China!
