Dear Alexis Grace and Danny Gokey from American Idol Season 8,
Last night you guys rocked! Danny, I have been a fan from day one, your story is inspiring and you have an amazing talent. Alexis, I also was a fan from the beginning, but I’ll admit you were not my favorite. Last night though, you quickly went from my number four to my number two.
However, I have a confession. The phone lines opened and I started incessantly dialing both of your numbers and got a busy tone as usual. I sat my phone down and never called back. My voice was not heard, I did not vote for you. You see, we have a 2 year old staying with us, and I was busy changing him into pajamas and kissing him good night and the next thing you know? I was asleep. Not until this morning did I realize what I had done.
I hope you have many fans and that they came through and voted for you. I will feel forever responsible for you going home if that should happen. I’m sorry. I really am. I promise to vote for you next time. Good luck tonight.
