Brady’s birthday trip to the zoo

We woke up on Brady’s birthday ready to spend our day walking the zoo grounds, sweating profusely and reapplying baby sunscreen hourly.  Without thinking to check the weather we put on our tank tops and flip flops and walked outside.  Rain.  Rain and clouds and low temperatures.  I checked weather.com on my phone and saw thunderstorms for the next two days.  My mood?  Totally went down the drain and I was being quite pouty.

Luckily, as always, weather.com was wrong and although the temperature never increased and the clouds didn’t leave, the thunderstorms never happened.

First on the agenda for the morning was a yummy birthday breakfast – pancakes!  I’m really hoping Brady inherits my love of iHop so we can outnumber his dad.

Since I never dreamed the weather would be anything but 100 degrees I didn’t pack anything but summer attire.  I didn’t even pack socks!  So we had to make an impromptu trip to Target for jeans, a sweatshirt, socks, a blanket and oh, this cute hat.

Brady had a good time strolling around and watching us point out animals to him, animals I don’t think he noticed.  Instead he was much more enamored with the other children wandering around.  He did have fun on the train ride and at the aquarium; that was one of the only times the animal didn’t blend into the background.  He especially loved the jellyfish and tried to touch them.  We’ll definitely have to teach him not to do that if we ever go to the beach.

Here are some of the animals we saw – I thought it was so funny how this polar bear was laying.

These two tigers were spooning.  🙂
Time to start planning next year’s birthday trip!  Ha!

He is absolutely adorable! Happy first birthday!

Try accuweather.com, it seems they look out the window before posting a forecast! And they’re mobile.

Journeying can refer to any type of travel, whether it’s for leisure, business, or personal reasons. It can involve going on a long road trip, taking a plane to a different country, or even just going on a hike in the woods. Journeying can be a exciting and rewarding experience, as it allows people to explore new places, try new things, and learn about different cultures.zhuilu old trail

    Hi,
Traveling can be an incredible experience, but it’s also important to be prepared for the unexpected. Make sure you have enough money, know the safety rules, and have a plan for what to do if something goes wrong.luxury family safaris
