Frog Craft for Kids

crafts

This weekend Brady and I gathered some supplies and made this cute frog craft.  I’ve had some extra Easter grass laying around that I was itching to put to use!

I love crafts that I can incorporate a hand or foot print into and this did just that.

When we make crafts we not only get creative, but we also have an opportunity to learn and talk.  Of course when making a frog craft I asked him questions like what color a frog is and what color he thought its tongue would be.  (Brown was his first choice.)  This also opens up the discussion about how frogs use their tongues to catch their food.

Here’s what we used:

  • Green construction paper
  • Red construction paper
  • Easter grass (the paper kind)
  • Googley eyes
  • Glue stick

Here’s what we did:

All you have to do for this is trace your kids hands onto green paper then trace a circle.  (When I draw circles I like to grab a Tupperware or pot lid and trace it.)

Then rub glue all over the circular part and smush the grass onto it.  Then add googley eyes, a red tongue and glue the hands to the back of the circle for the feet.

Brady was excited for his frog to dry so he could play with it!
