The fourth is right around the corner, so I wanted to get started on some fun July 4th crafts with the kids. Today we made fun Patriotic Paper Straw Bracelets!
I try to keep pretty stocked up on my paper straws, I just love them! They are really cool to craft with and pretty inexpensive to get. I thought making some cool patriotic bracelets with the boys would be fun and festive.
Ok now on to this super easy kids craft, you’re going to need to following supplies:
Supplies
- Paper Straws
- Pipe Cleaners
- Scissors
Getting Started
As you can see the supplies are pretty easy. Paper straws and pipe cleaners, can’t get any simpler then that!
Time to get our crafting on!
Step 1 – Cut Paper Straws
Pick out your most patriotic paper straws and cut them in different sizes.
If you have an older child they can do this step themselves. My 6 year old was able to cut all the straws himself.
Quick Tip:
Some of the straws were bent a little at the ends. So we just put them on the end of a paint brush and it totally fixed the problem.
Step 2 – Add Your Paper Straws
Now it’s time to add the paper straws. I just stuck with basic patterns.
This is even a perfect craft for my 2 year old. He had a great time adding the “beads”. Once we finished, we just twisted the ends and cut off any extra.
Finishing Touches
My sweet little guy did such a great job showing off his bracelets. It’s a lot asking most 6 year old’s to take pictures wearing bracelets but my boys don’t mind.
If you have a girl you can add a little ribbon and bow to the ends for fun. This is such a quick craft you can do with the kids before or on July 4th. I think it will be a festive touch and keep the kids busy.
Enjoy your 4th!!
