Printable Elf On The Shelf Excuses

Elf On The Shelf excuses that you can keep handy for when you forget to move him!

Uh oh! You fell asleep early last night and totally forgot to move your Elf On The Shelf. Ack! Your kid is going to wake up any minute and notice he’s still perched in his last position.

You have no exciting or elaborate ideas and you just need something quick. I’ve got your back. (Grab one here if you need a new one or lost yours like I did. I found him six months later in a filing cabinet for some strange reason.)

Make sure you check out my entire awesome Printable Elf Kit. It has everything you could possibly need to make Elfing way easier.

Elf On The Shelf excuses

There are lots of fun reasons why your friendly elf may not have moved last night, and I created a free printable for you with ten of them.

The idea is to print them out ahead of time (no way will you have the time to fire up your printer and cut out the excuses before your kiddo notices!) then grab one from your secret hiding spot and place it near your elf!

A few of these work great for bad behavior!

One reminds kids to go to bed on time and another explains they are getting an extra day to show they can behave. Bonus!

I think these are super fun. And so easy! Just make sure you get them printed out ASAP.

This has made my day! Even though our elf, Gabe, has only been here a few days, I’m already finding myself in bed and then remembering – OH NO, GABE! These will come in so handy. The excuses, the font, the color – it’s all perfect, so thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you!

I am a lunchroom manager at one of our Elementary schools in our county, I took our Elf (Ziggy) to school this year and have him in the lunchroom. The kids adore him and look for him every morning to see where he is and what he is doing.

Loved these ideas! My elf had a rough morning and I was about to give up, but this post gave me the inspiration I needed to come up with a creative excuse
