Hello everyone, It’s Courtney with Crafts by Courtney and I’m back today sharing a simple Hello Kitty craft with you!
I’ve worked on Hello Kitty crafts before and I always have a great time. They’re just too cute. Plus, they are really fun and easy to make!
For this craft your going to need:
Supplies
- Toilet paper roll
- Paint
- Mod Podge
- Glitter
- Bow-tie noodle
- Paint brush
Getting Started
I pulled out my stash of toilet paper rolls, paint and of course GLITTER! I’ll take any chance to use some glitter. LOVE IT!
I couldn’t wait to get started on my Hello Kitty.
Step 1 – Paint Toilet Paper Rolls
Add two layers of white paint, letting each coat dry 10 minutes.
Step 2 – Bend Top of Toilet Paper Roll
I wanted her to look like she really had ears, so I folded the top over.
I think it worked out perfectly!
Step 3 – Paint on Nose
Time to add that cute little nose. I painted on some yellow paint, BUT I wanted to add sparkle. So I decided to add a little yellow glitter to the wet paint.
Step 4 – Paint on Eyes
Now it’s time to gently paint on the eyes. I used a fine paint brush for this.
Quick Tip: You can always pre-cut black eyes for this step.
Step 5 – Paint Your Whiskers
When making the whiskers, I also used a fine paint brush. But I traced out my whiskers FIRST, then filled them in with paint.
When practicing, I tried using a black maker (but it’s wasn’t as dark as I wanted), so I decided on the paint. I think it worked great!
Step 6 – Add Bow
Finally it’s time to add our cute bow!
I used a bow tie noodle and added a little Mod Podge on top. Then sprinkled my glitter on top. I let dry 20 minutes then hot glued my bow onto the Hello Kitty.
I’m just loving her!
Finishing Touches
Now we’re ready to display and have some fun! This is a perfect craft to have at a Hello Kitty themed birthday party or even a sleep over with the girls!
I’m not gonna lie, I enjoyed working on this craft. I have three boys, so most of my crafts are geared toward boy themes. So it was nice to work on a girly craft this time!
Thanks for stopping by and here’s a couple more Toilet Paper Roll Crafts to check out of mine!

Perry the Platypus
We’re all fans of Perry the Platypus in this house, so when the boys were able to make a craft that involved him they were so excited!
I think this is a fun craft you can do with your kids, I know they’ll have a wonderful time working on them. I sure did!!

The Hello Kitty craft is so cute! I’m a Children’s Librarian and am hosting a Hello Kitty Day program. To make the project a little more kid-friendly in a larger group setting, we’ll be using glitter glue on the pasta and Sharpies to draw the faces! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Courtney,
I’m a Librarian and I would like to make your craft with kids at my library. In order to promote the craft, do you mind if I use your photo of the finished project on our library website?
Thanks!
Deb
What do you use to fill in the bottom so it is closed? These are really cute!
