And A Baby Carriage.

Teaching boys to lift the toilet seat lids with a Shandle

parenting

Potty training Brady wasn’t all that hard.  It took him a while to get interested in the idea, but once it clicked for him that was it.  One relatively large issue I continually have with him is pulling BOTH toilet seats up before he goes.  He obviously understands to lift the first one since he can’t see the toilet until that is done.  But the seat that it used for sitting, he keeps leaving down.  That means a lovely wet seat when others need to go.

Each time he goes we remind him, “Put both the seats up, Brady!”  Sometimes he does, most of the time he doesn’t.

So when I saw The Shandle and heard they wanted a few toddler boy moms to review their toilet seat handle I was like, “ME!  Pick me!”  If anyone needs this product it is us.

The Shandle Save

The thought is simple, add a little lever to the side of the toilet to easily pull it up and down.  I like that the one I selected has a little dinosaur on it so it catches Brady’s eye and reminds him.  Also, it keeps him from constantly touching the actual toilet seat.  Gross.

These come in a 3-pack so all of your bathrooms are covered and it’s only $9.99.  Pretty awesome, huh?!  Brady likes it.

Potty training was one of my least favorite parts of parenting! I wish I could go back and tell myself to just relax and let things happen naturally! Every kid definitely has their own time table! XO

I was just saying to myself this morning that I wish I could teach that boy of mine to lift up the seat! Thanks for this idea!
