30 Day New Year Health Challenge

This new year health challenge is here to help you begin the year right, ready to meet your weight and fitness goals! So many often try to hit the new year hard, and I get that, but I like the notion of starting things off with slow purpose.

It’s about being intentional. Paying attention to our health every day. Making good choices. Considering new options. This is a long game, not a sprint!

The one addition to this list is to get up and move everyday. I’m not saying exercise, I’m saying do something with movement. Maybe it’s playing a game of Just Dance with your kids, maybe it’s a walk with your dog around the block, heck maybe it’s making 4 trips up and down your stairs!

Just make sure to get your heart pumping every day.

This would be a great time to do the 30 Day Declutter Challenge or the 30 Day Happiness Challenge!

  1. Cut out a bad habit (soda, nightly brownie, etc.)
  2. Start drinking more water
  3. Watch this TED talk
  4. Try a new kind of exercise
  5. Add a fruit to your breakfast
  6. Download a fitness app
  7. Start making daily smoothies
  8. Eliminate something sugary from your normal diet
  9. Read an inspiring health book (like The Telomere Effect)
  10. Make a fun workout playlist
  11. Add a vegetable to your lunch
  12. Have an ‘only drink water day’ (nothing else!)
  13. Establish a Meatless Meal day
  14. Try a TV show workout plan
  15. Set realistic goals
  16. Add a vegetable to your dinner
  17. Start daily affirmations
  18. Be a vegetarian for a day
  19. Try another new exercise
  20. Eliminate another bad habit
  21. Watch this TED talk
  22. Fill your kitchen with healthy snack options
  23. Start a vitamin regimen
  24. Slow down your alcohol intake if necessary
  25. Consider joining a Diet Bet if weight loss is important to you
  26. Try meditation
  27. Cook a new healthy meal
  28. Try another new exercise
  29. Go to bed early
  30. Start a new challenge (squat challenge, ab challenge, plank challenge)
