Are you totally stressed out all the time and honestly, don’t even know why? Me, too.
I have being finding little things to add to my days to help me keep stress out. I put them all together into this amazing Stress Cleanse you are totally going to want to do with me.
30 Day Stress Cleanse
- Write down 3 things you’re grateful for
- Start a simple journal to brain dump – get all those thoughts out of your head and onto paper
- Watch something funny – laughing relaxes your body, boosts the immune system, releases endorphins. The easiest thing to do here is find some funny standups on Netflix.
- Find 3 things you can get rid of that negatively effect you. Maybe remove clutter, paint that ugly brown wall that’s bothering you, etc.
- Go out into nature for 30 minutes (you can find a walking trail, a lake or ocean to swim in, or just walk around your neighborhood)
- Create a life-list (like a bucket list, write down things you really want to do or accomplish)
- Go volunteer or donate something (my family likes to take pet supplies to the animal shelter and while we are there we get to pet the new kittens!)
- Read something inspiring
- Have a totally free electronic day – we’re talking phones, computer, and even television
- Listen to your top favorite songs
- Meditate for 10 minutes (if you’re not well-versed on mediation that’s ok, just sit in the quiet and focus on slow breathing – that’s it!)
- Create a daily mantra. Here are a bunch of great ones. I like, “I don’t sweat the small stuff.” Repeat it to yourself as needed during the day.
- Treat yourself to a massage
- Get 15 minutes of sunlight
- Go out into nature for 30 minutes again
- Try some essential oils for stress relief like lavender, rose or Ylang Ylang.
- Go to bed early
- Write out a detailed daily schedule to control your time stress
- Create a nightly self-care routine (example: an after dinner bubble bath, followed by 10 minutes of meditation, reading your favorite book, then spraying your pillow with lavender before laying down)
- Plan out your dream vacation (science has shown over and over just the act of planning your vacation brings happiness)
- Add blueberries to your breakfast every day. Blueberries have been shown to soothe the brain!
- Learn at least one of these stress reducing pressure points
- Start getting up from your desk or chair at least once an hour and do one of these office stretches
- Stay away from stress inducing foods like sugar, caffeine, carbs and alcohol
- Go out into nature for 30 minutes again
- Start a hydration system. If you aren’t drinking enough water each day try getting a fun new bottle, or setting a reminder on your phone. Here are some water drinking hacks.
- Start a new vitamin regimen
