7 Genius Healthy Hair Tips

Get a trim every 6-8 weeks.

I used to go months without a hair cut, once even more than a year. I know you’re busy and salon trips can be expensive, but trimming off dead and damaged hair is the MOST important thing to keep it healthy.

Give yourself a scalp massage.

Gently massaging your scalp increases blood flow and is said to help your hair grow and boosts the strength of the roots. Plus, it feels good! This little gadget called the Groove is amazing.

Drink your water.

As with pretty much every health hack in the world, drinking your water is key. It keeps your hair strong, growing and hydrated.

Use a heat protectant.

I learned this the hard way but you have to protect your hair from the heat of your blow dryer, straightener and curling irons. I always use a blow dry serum while my hair is wet and then once its dry, use a heat protectant prior to ironing or curling.

After washing your hair, use a wide tooth comb, not a brush.

Use a hair towel not a bath towel.

By using a microfiber hair towel instead of a regular towel keeps your hair from frizzing. They’re soft a super absorbent, too.

Try a hair mask.

When your hair has been damaged too much by all the heat and pollution, try my favorite repair mask: Bumble & Bumble While You Sleep Overnight Damage Repair Mask
