The Best Way To Buy Video Games for Holiday Gifts

Pretty much every year since my kids started “gaming” they have been asking for new video games for Christmas. They tend to get a little bored with one after a few months and with the allure of all the new, exciting games coming out, they can’t help themselves.

With the excitement of all things Pokémon this year, my son has been asking for several new games including the new Pokémon Sun and Moon. So, I have a plan. It’s a pretty smart way to replenish their game stash without breaking the bank. Want to hear it?

Trade.

It’s simple: just trade in the old games that they are no longer interested in. The games they have played and decided they didn’t really like, and the games they played so much in the first week that they were bored by week two.

Every year before the holidays we go through the huge stash of toys and donate the things we don’t play with much anymore. Now, we’ve added video games to that de-stash and put them in a separate bin that I will be trading. (Shhh.)

At GameStop it’s really easy. All you do is bring in your used games (or consoles, or even cell phones and accessories) and get store credit to purchase other items in store – you can even get cash. If your kiddos are crazy for all things Pokémon like mine, there is much to choose from like the new Pokémon Sun and Moon games (if you trade for one of these you get 20% extra credit!) and lots of collectibles, too. The store associates are super friendly and knowledgeable, so if it’s your first time trading don’t worry – they will make is so easy for you!

    My son is asking for NCAA football 14, Blitz the League 2 and Backbreaker. Gamestop is actually the cheapest place to find them because they’re all old. Other places online had the games for $80 and up!!

    Our kids really wanted the Pokemon Sun and Moon Games for their Nintendo 3DS systems. We bought them one (either Sun or Moon), so for Christmas, they’ll be getting the other that they don’t have. Oh and there are 4 boys who play it! LOL

    My grandson is 8 yrs old he told me he wanted santa to bring him some pokemon games for Christmas for his ds3 or 3ds I’m not sure exactly what it is. I’d really like to win so i could give or santa could give him what he asked for. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and yours

    My son is excited about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare! We have all of the Call of Duty games, so he really wants this one too. I actually like playing this game too. God bless and Happy Holidays everyone!

    I don’t know what the kids want, but I want to play The Sims again or Creatures. Have they updated Creatures in the past 10 years? I don’t know. My brother plays those Fast and Furious car games. That might be fun, but I’m terrible at the new video games….I liked Pong tho. lol

      It looks tempting, but it definitely doesn’t work with me. I have tried many times to win money in gambling entertainment and now I have completely abandoned this idea. If I want to get excitement and drive, I just play slots https://tower.bet/game/book-of-gold-double-chance and that’s enough for me. I do not risk anything and do not live in anticipation of a miracle, which saves me from unnecessary losses of money.

    Trading old games is a smart way to save money and keep your kids’ game collection fresh. Stores like GameStop make it easy, especially with bonus credits on popular titles like Pokémon. It’s a great habit to do before the holidays. Also, try introducing them to Fire Kirin, a fun and exciting arcade-style game they might really enjoy!
