And A Baby Carriage.

Brady at 9 months

Brady,

This month has been an adventure.  You are officially on the move and into EVERYTHING.  You started crawling the night before you turned nine months old.  You had been on all fours rocking and just couldn’t quite maneuver all the mechanics at once; hand then leg hand then leg.  Then one day we were playing in your room and I was placing things in front of you like normal trying to coerce you forward and you did it.  Just like that.  I yelled for your dad and my eyes welled up with tears.  It was incredible watching you learn something.  Something you had been trying to get for so long.  Something you were working so hard at.  Congratulations, little boy, on the first of so many more accomplishments in life.

(FYI – I took your pictures outside this month and forgot the elephant. Uh oh!)

So let me tell you what that means now: all the things you were after that I could just push out of your reach you are now able to get to.  Which for your dad and I means constantly rearranging things, blocking areas of the house and an ever constant stream of no no no no no!  We are in the process of buying all the many gadgets we need to keep this place safe.  I’m convinced whoever built this house was not a parent.

You taught yourself something else this month also.  I don’t think there is a name for it but you take your fingers to your mouth and flick your lips to make noise.  It is your new favorite thing and its super cute.  Its also pretty neat that sometimes we can start it and you will copy us.  I love that you can mimic us so well.  The other day I was grinning and shaking my head back and forth at you being silly and you started doing it too.  You are so smart.

We think we may have finally heard a “mama” this month.  You are still chanting da-da-da-da constantly and I can’t wait for you to learn something new. Specifically, mama, of course.

The weather is getting nice and I can’t wait to spend more time outside with you.  Here’s to the pool, sunscreen, baseball games and trips to the park.  I can’t wait to experience new things with you – you are just so much fun.

Love,
Mama
