And A Baby Carriage.

His first birthday party bash!

birthday

For the last 6 months or so I’ve been making purchases here and there to host the world’s coolest circus party.  We were going to have a huge backyard bash complete with a popcorn machine, games, cotton candy, you name it.  The planning started getting away from me when I lost my job and I needed to start putting everything together to finish up.  Then Guy through a wrench in my plans, but it ended up being a good wrench.

He convinced me that we should hang on to what we’ve got, host a smaller party this year, and have the circus for birthday number two.  Why?  Because Brady will not enjoy a single thing that we are paying for except for the kids that are invited, and they’re free.  Sure enough, Brady could have cared less about the decorations, the present we bought him or the homemade cupcakes that took me 14 hours to make.  (Exaggeration.)  What he did love was having company over (his favorite thing at the moment) and the balloons.

I ordered some generic birthday boy party supplies and made some cupcake toppers that I tacky glued to lollipop sticks.

I saw this Buzz car at WalMart one day and he loved it so I put it in the cart then hid it in our room for a couple of weeks. That’s the beauty of a one year old, he forgot all about it!  He loves honking the horn.

He wasn’t into the frosting at all so I pulled the top off and he just ate the bottom cake part.

Then it was back to play with his friends.

In hindsight I’m glad we kept it low key this year and we gave him exactly what he really wanted which was visitors.  The kid is absolutely in love with people and other kids at the moment.
I can’t believe we’ve already had his first birthday party – I’m sure next year will fly by even faster than this one did!
