Our summer schedule is so busy this year! My son is playing a lot of baseball (his favorite thing to do) and we’re playing at the pool and going on lots of adventures.

I’ll be honest, I am loving this busy lifestyle at the moment. We live in Kansas and have a really long winter. A winter that keeps us in our house not wanting to leave for days. We will spend some weekends during a snow or ice storm feeling totally claustrophobic, waiting and yearning for these warm months. When they finally get here, we live it up.

Still, having the kids home all day long means there is no shortage of downtime and “Mom, I’m bored” comments.

We’re finding ourselves eating out a bit more than normal right now. Sometimes between my husband getting off work and my son having a baseball game there’s no time to eat a family meal until after the game.

We recently tried out our new favorite fast-casual restaurant, Fazoli’s. I can’t believe we have never been there before!

I love the term fast-casual, because that’s a perfect description. It’s restaurant style food (no plastic bowls and silverware here) in a restaurant style setting but it’s incredibly fast service and far below restaurant prices.

And it’s real food. Fazoli’s has made a commitment to eliminating all artificial preservatives and additives. They’ve even got a page on their website where you can view a list of every single ingredient they use. I love transparency.

Every time a new restaurant does this I get so excited. I do not want to feed my children junk and when there is a place that steps up and says, “Hey, there are no artificial ingredients here,” I love it.

When you dine with an entire family, another big issue is the price. And Fazoli’s is a total budget saver. We went on a Tuesday which meant we got a 99¢ kids meal for each adult entree we bought. There is also $3 off $10 coupon you can download.

And if you haven’t heard, you get all the free breadsticks you want!

Fazoli’s is real Italian food for a small price and is the perfect dinner solution for busy families on a budget. It’s our new favorite!
