Do you make smoothies? Ever since I got my new Ninja I have been making them every single day. I love adding in greens because they’re something I would never eat on it’s own. I know I should, but leafy greens are just not something my palate likes.
The cool thing is, I can sneak things into smoothies and never know the difference. So, that’s what I’ve been doing.
Green Veggie Cubes for Smoothies
You can of course, throw fresh greens into my smoothie, but they almost always go bad before I finish the whole bag. So, when I buy my veggies from the store I make a bunch of veggie cubes and freeze them.
For these I used kale, spinach and broccoli. Steam the veggies first and get them ready for the food processor.
(To steam them I simply put the veggies and a little water in a microwave bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Put in the microwave for about 2 minutes each, depending on how much you have.)
Dump all of it in your food processor. (That’s one thing that is so awesome about my Ninja Mega Kitchen System, it has Nutri Ninja for making individual sized smoothies, and a food processor.)
Blend it up! Once it’s clump-free, pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze for a few hours. Once they are frozen, I put them into a Ziploc freezer baggie to store. Voila, veggie cubes!
I pop one into my smoothie every morning now which makes it super easy!
