Friday the 13th is a always a spooky day even if nothing spooky actually happens. I remember being a kid and gearing up for the day with friends. We made plans to go to the skating rink and watch scary movies all night long.
Full moons have a sinister feeling to them as well, often associated with people going crazy. So much so, that in the 18th century, you could actually get a lesser sentence for a crime committed on that day.
Hey, you couldn’t help yourself, it was the moon!
So how would it feel if both of these ultra eerie, infrequent events happened to line up on the EXACT. SAME. DAY?
Well guess what? It’s happening!
On Friday, September 13th we will also get a Harvest Moon. (A Harvest Moon is simply the first full moon ‘seen nearest to the time of the autumnal equinox.’)
This creepy combo only happens roughly once every 20 years and it’s expected to not show up again until August 13, 2049.
So make sure to look up in the sky on Friday and take a look at the moon…. and be sure to stay away from crazies!
