Thank you UBTECH for sponsoring this post. JIMU Robots are a fun way to bring robotics into kid’s day to day and make the perfect gift you can feel good about gifting to the children in your lives this holiday season!

When I asked my son what he wanted for Christmas this year, I expected the usual long list of items. I assumed he’d start rattling off toy after toy he had seen on television or at a friends house.

But instead he said just one thing: Robots.

Shhh, Here's How To Sneak Learning Into Your Christmas Gift This Year

“Anything else?” I asked him.

“Nope.” he said. “Just robots.”

Honestly, I was a little excited when I heard his answer because I thought, YES, an opportunity to sneak in some learning!

See, I knew that I could go get him some generic motorized thing OR I could go get him a robot he could build himself. One he could code all by himself. And yes, of course, one that would be fun to play with, too.

JIMU Robots

Let me tell you a little more about what it is. JIMU has several different kits to choose from each containing all the parts you need to build not one, but several epic interactive robots.

You can follow along on the free app to build one of their designs, or you can completely create your own. When you’re done, you can control him with your iPad or smartphone and code him yourself.

Building a JIMU Robot

We sat down together to build our very first robot: Astron from the Cosmos Kit. The very first thing that made me do a mom happy dance was the fact that there were no paper instructions. One less thing to keep track of, of course, but also because that meant there was something that would walk me through step by step.

The 3D instructions on the iPad made this whole thing a breeze. It took time to carefully build this little guy; we used servers, and wires and tiny little bricks. My son was so proud when we were finished. It was such an accomplishment!

The JIMU Robot uses their brain, their fine motor skills and their creativity. It encourages them to think, play and learn all at the same time.

It challenges kids in a way that is fun and gives them something to feel pride over. For a young kid, I can’t think of a better Christmas gift.
