Margarita Jello Shots
What kind of margarita is your favorite? I am totally obsessed with margaritas and even though I love trying new fun flavors (mango is a good one), a classic, on the rocks margarita is always my number one. Here is that classic drink, but in jello shot form. Yum!
Here’s What You’ll Need
In order to make these jello shots, you’ll need the following.
- Tequila. Any brand will do! We went with El Espolòn Blanco Tequila, it’s so good.
- Water. Boiling.
- Jello. We used lime for a classic margarita flavor.
- Limes. For garnish. You can leave this off but it looks more fun this way!
- Salt. For the rim and also optional garnish you can leave off if you want. You could also replace it with sugar.
- Plastic Mini Cups. I get these at WalMart and it costs about $3 for 50 of them.

How Much Tequila To Add To Margarita Jello Shots
The perfect amount of tequila for this jello shots is exactly one cup. You don’t want to overdo the flavor of the alcohol and adding too much can mess with the consistency.

Margarito jello shots are magnificent, and if you add some tequila into the mix, they’ll be even better. I hope that you can share more recipes with tequila drinks here with us because that would be great for me.
Great post, Liz!
Wouldn’t it make more sense to salt the rims BEFORE you put the mix in the containers? I don’t even know how you would do it afterwards??
You would get the rim wet with the lemon wedge and dip upside down in the salt after the jello is set.
Looks Delicious! What size package of lime jello should I get in order to make these?

Is the 3oz size jello used in this recipe?
After the jello has set, you would moisten the rim with a lemon wedge and then dip it upside down in salt.
