Paityn,
My sweet girl. I’m typing this with one hand as I hold you with the other. You are a fussy babe this morning which is not your usual demeanor. When you do act this way, I know there must be something bothering you. Most likely tummy troubles.
The last month we have spent our days maneuvering through the adjustment stage, fitting you into our everyday world and getting to know you. So far I’ve learned this: That you love your binky and would like someone to hold it in place for you at all times. That you would prefer to only be swaddled when you are ready to go right to sleep, otherwise you want your arms back. That you have a very high-pitched scream. That you can’t stand to be cold and love when I take you out back for naps. That you are so very lovable.

You are such a tiny, dainty little thing. Everyone says how pretty and girly you are. Its hard to tell if babies this young are boys or girls, and the doctors and nurses at the hospital all kept commenting that you already were so obviously a girl. I’ve never seen a more pretty baby than you.
I say this again and again, but I’m so thankful you are here and healthy. What a very long journey we had just to start your life. My warrior girl. You’re the perfect addition to our family and you are abundantly loved.
Love,
Mama

I love reading this and thinking back on all she fought through to get here. The doctors and nurses are right – she is so girl and so beautiful. Love her.

I can’t wait to have an occasion so that I can hire Darbi. She has a great eye and is obviously pretty darn talented.
