Our kids do a lot of gross things and topping the list usually is picking their nose. (Hey, if there’s something in there, you want to get it out.)
Well what would you say if there was a new scientific study saying that picking your nose is actually good for you? Not only that, but – wait for it – eating it isn’t bad for you either.
According to MummyPages there is research showing that snot is full of good bacteria called salivary mucins that can protect teeth from a type of bacteria that’s responsible for causing cavities.
It’s so good for their teeth that they’re trying to replicate it so they can use it in toothpaste.
I’m not even joking.
I actually don’t get too worried about my kids picking their nose, it just doesn’t bother me like it bothers some people. However, I am definitely not down with them eating it. We have to draw a line somewhere right?
So what do you think? Are you going to start letting your kids pick their boogers if science says you should?
