I have been so nervous to move my daughter out of her crib. Yes, she is three-years-old, turning four this summer, but she was still sleeping in a crib.
Here’s the thing about parenting decisions: you don’t fix what isn’t broke. And the crib wasn’t broke. She has been sleeping like a champ and the last thing I wanted was to disrupt that.
On a few occasions she’s been away from it and moved to a bed, like when we go on vacation or stay the night at a relatives house, she was up all night. I was terrified to move her to a bed!
But recently we decided it was time, mostly because I thought she was probably really uncomfortable in there, even though she never complained about it. Plus, kids tend to surprise you. The things you worry about often end up being no big deal, like the time we took her binky away.
And surprise us she did.
Wayfair was so kind and sent us this incredible bed perfect for a little princess. We set it up while she was having a playdate with Grandma and surprised her when she came home.
She slept perfectly! She didn’t get up and wander around like I feared. She adores this bed. It is absolutely beautiful and detailed and I know it’s something she can hang onto for many years. My husband loved it because it came packaged so smart that it was a breeze to put together. So it was a total win for everyone.
